UIHike helps you capture browser pages as step-by-step visual walkthroughs. This policy explains what information the UIHike Chrome extension and related UIHike services handle.

Information UIHike Handles

When you use the Chrome extension, UIHike may store walkthrough titles, step text, page titles, page URLs, screenshots, selected page details, extension settings, and your UIHike API key in Chrome extension storage on your device.

If you choose cloud sync, sharing, download from cloud, or AI enrichment features, UIHike sends the information needed for that feature to UIHike services at go.uihike.com. This can include screenshots, page URLs, visible page text or structure needed to draft step descriptions, project ZIP files, and authentication credentials.

How We Use Information

We use this information to provide the product features you request: capturing steps, saving walkthroughs, syncing projects, generating optional AI descriptions, exporting files, and sharing published walkthroughs.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your captured walkthrough content for third-party advertising.

Local Storage and Cloud Storage

Walkthrough content created in the extension is stored locally in Chrome extension storage unless you choose a cloud feature. Content sent to UIHike cloud services is stored so the app can sync, download, update, and share the walkthroughs you choose to upload.

AI Features

AI description features are optional. When enabled, UIHike may send relevant screenshot or page context to UIHike services so a description can be generated. You can keep AI enrichment disabled and write descriptions yourself.

Permissions

The extension requests browser permissions needed to capture the active tab, save your walkthroughs, show the side panel, and run capture helpers on pages where you ask UIHike to capture steps.

Data Sharing

We share information only with service providers needed to operate UIHike, when you choose to publish or share content, when required by law, or to protect UIHike, our users, and the public.

Your Choices

You can delete local walkthroughs in the extension, remove your API key from extension settings, disable AI enrichment, and choose not to use cloud sync or sharing features.
